Delaware Technical Community College offers a wide variety of credit programs of study -- including a bachelor's degree, associate degrees, certificates and diplomas -- designed to prepare you for success in the world of work or to transfer credits to a four-year university. The Delaware Center for Horticulture recently announced Marcia Stephenson as its new director of advancement. Stephenson, who will officially assume the role Saturday, Oct.

She managed major fundraising drives including annual appeals, and coordinated large-scale aspects of the Rare Plant Auction. A well-known public face for the organization, she organized trips and garden tours, obtained artists for the DCH art gallery, managed facility rental and coordinated the Wilmington City Gardens Contest.Stephenson holds a bachelor of science degree in horticulture with a minor in art from the University of Delaware. Prior to moving to Delaware to return to school, she lived in Boston where she worked as a sales representative for a film manufacturer in the printing industry.

There she became interested in plants, gardening and community beautification, and co-founded the Evening Garden Club of West Roxbury, which began implementing community projects, garden tours and speaker engagements.

Enlightened by her garden club experience, Stephenson moved to Delaware to pursue her horticulture degree. She is married, has a stepdaughter and two Maine Coon cats, and tends a delightful garden around their home. Enter your keywords.

Delaware Center for Horticulture's Branches to Chances BtC : A Return to Work Program provides economic opportunities and empowers low-to-moderate income persons to achieve self-sufficiency. Through direct services, BtC hires and trains unemployed, underemployed, and previously incarcerated individuals for entry-level positions in the horticulture industry. Upon successful completion of the program, BtC participants will have knowledge, skills, and experience in job readiness, personal finance, and horticulture. As of December , 73 men and women successfully completed BTC training, and an encouraging two-thirds of the graduates went on to secure employment. BtC graduates obtain marketable knowledge and skills in a flourishing industry, making our participants more appealing to local employers.
